The Prep/Line Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking menu items, and assisting in kitchen operations to ensure timely and high-quality food service. This role requires attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients, including washing, chopping, and measuring, according to recipes and food safety standards.

  • Cook menu items accurately and consistently, following Boom Services’ recipes and portion guidelines.

  • Assist with plating, garnishing, and presentation of dishes.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, workstations, and storage areas.

  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management.

  • Follow all safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures in compliance with company standards.

  • Support the kitchen team during peak service hours to ensure smooth operations.

  • Assist in setup and breakdown of kitchen stations as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred but not required; training is available.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate to heavy items.

  • Professional appearance and adherence to Boom Services’ grooming standards.

  • Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Work Environment

Prep/Line Cooks work in hotel kitchens, restaurants, and event venues throughout South Florida. The role involves standing for long periods, lifting, and working in hot or busy kitchen environments. Schedules may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
